Amul girl gets a new dimension, goes 3D

The young, chubby Indian girl dressed in a polka-dotted frock with blue hair and a half pony tied up is getting with the times. The new commercial for brand Amul, released by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation has her rendered in 3D for the first time ever.
First drawn by creative Sylvester daCunha and art director Eustace Fernandez in 1967, the Moppet was rendered in 3D, along with the animation, background and composing by Toonz India.
In the new TVC, she looks like a regular cartoon character, and is seen frolicking around with the children, exploring new places and sampling delicious food; with a lump of butter in each dish. The mascot encourages children to pair butter with contemporary dishes like pasta and noodles.
