Nitish competing with Modi is like Ganguly competing with Tendulkar

PTI image[/caption]Ganguly is good, but he's no Sachin. Nitish has accomplished some things, but most of these were thanks to BJP ministers who were more competent than his own party members. Nitish does not command Modi's authority, nor does he have any of his charisma. Even upper-caste voters in Bihar are going to desert him. OBCs like Yadavs never took Nitish seriously, and would choose Modi or Lalu over him.The only thing that can save Nitish is the Muslim and mahadalit votes. But the muslim community will never vote for him if he does not align with Congress, which is seen nationally as the only force capable of stopping the BJP. However, the Congress will never allow Nitish to be PM, and instead wants to ride on the JDU's back to revive itself in Bihar.It is an open secret that many of Nitish's party members - including Sharad Yadav - are willing to break bread with Modi if BJP manages a respectable total.
