2017 Yamaha MT-09 launched in India for Rs 10.88 lakh

The 2017 Yamaha MT-09 has been launched, priced at Rs 10.88 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi. Interestingly, the new version has been launched as a CBU product, just like before, but is priced lower than the previous version thanks to the implementation of GST.[caption id="attachment_4226921" align="alignleft" width="380"] 2017 Yamaha MT-09.[/caption]The new version of the Yamaha MT-09 gets styling tweaks including a revised design for the quad-LED headlamp unit which also gets 'winglets', larger air-scoops and side fins on the radiator and a swing-arm mounted rear fender. The tail light is now integrated into the rear body panel to make for a cleaner looking rear end while the subframe is now shorter by 30mm and the seat height up by a negligible 5mm.The seat design has been revised and the 41mm USD forks have been updated as well. The forks now feature compression damping on the left fork leg and rebound on the right. There are no changes on the powertrain front and the 2017 MT-09 is powered by the same, 847cc, liquid-cooled inline three-cylinder engine as before.[caption id="attachment_4226923" align="alignnone" width="800"] Yamaha MT-09.[/caption]Outputs thus remains unchanged at 115PS and 87.5Nm, though new for 2017 are a quick-shifter and slipper clutch, both of which are part of standard equipment. In terms of the competition, the Yamaha MT-09 will go up against motorcycles like the Triumph Street Triple RS, Kawasaki Z900 and Ducati Monster 821.
